OUR STORY

ROOTED IN THE VOLCANO.

HOW WE STARTED

A FAMILY LEGACY IN EVERY CUP

CraterHouse Coffee was founded by the ReyBal siblings as a way to honor family, memory, and the everyday moments that bring people together.

Coffee has always been part of daily routines, conversations, and shared time. It represents comfort, connection, and community. CraterHouse Coffee was created to reflect those moments while reconnecting the brand to its roots back home.

The coffee is sourced from the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico near the Volcán Tacaná, where high elevation and nutrient-rich volcanic soil shape the character of every bean. This environment produces coffee that is naturally complex, balanced, and full of depth — a true reflection of the land it comes from.

CraterHouse Coffee believes great coffee should be high quality, community-driven, and accessible. Specialty coffee does not need to feel exclusive or intimidating. It should be something people can enjoy daily, share with others, and build memories around.

WHAT SETS US APART

Why Single Origin Matters

Our coffee is grown at high elevations where slower-growing Arabica and Robusta plants develop richer, more complex flavors. Combined with the dense, mineral-rich volcanic soil, each batch reflects the land it comes from — bold, balanced, and unique.

VOLCANIC SOIL
Centuries of geological activity have created mineral-dense soil that feeds each plant with nutrients you can actually taste in the cup.

HIGH-ALTITUDE BEANS
At 1,200–1,800m elevation, cooler temperatures slow the ripening process — concentrating sugars and building natural complexity in every cherry.

PREMIUM BUT APPROACHABLE
We believe coffee should be exciting, not intimidating. Clear information, clean design, and a vibe that welcomes you wherever you are in your coffee journey.

OUR CORE VALUES

QUALITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE
We don't blend or hide flavors. Every bag is exactly what it says — pure, traceable, single-origin coffee from one source, one harvest.

ORIGIN MATTERS
The soil, altitude, and climate of Volcán Tacaná aren't just details — they're the reason our coffee tastes the way it does. Every batch reflects the land it comes from.

COMMUNITY & SUSTAINABILITY
We partner with family producers in Chiapas who share our values for land stewardship, fair practices, and long-term relationships.

ACCESSIBILITY
Specialty coffee doesn't need to feel exclusive or intimidating. CraterHouse delivers premium quality with clear information and a vibe that welcomes everyone.

THE TERROIR

Volcán Tacaná
6.7569° N, 93.1292° W

Straddling the Mexico-Guatemala border, Volcán Tacaná rises over 4,000 meters. Its slopes are blanketed in lush highland forests where our Arabica plants thrive at altitudes above 1,200 meters. The mineral-dense volcanic soil — enriched over centuries of geological activity — creates a growing environment found nowhere else on earth. Slower ripening at altitude means more complex sugars. More complex sugars mean better coffee. That's not marketing. That's geology.
